Not sure how much I'll be in the game thread tonight.  My mom's been agitaged since 1:30pm this afternoon.

Is she living with you, Homer?

I'm staying at her place along with my sister.  It's a multi-person responsibility and it's exhausting.

Sometimes she doesn't think she's home and wants to leave. Also can't go outside because her OCD is on another level and leaves and snow outside is a big problem. When she obsesses over something, it's almost impossible to distract her from it. We have vinyl film on the windows so she can't see out the living room window. Last fall was her wanting to pick up leaves a dozen times a day, including at 2am.

For the past couple hours she's been obsessed about her closed, fixing her shirt that doesn't need fixing, taking the shirt off to fix it, leaving her only with a shirtless undershirt and she's complaining that she's cold.  We tell her it's because she took her shirt off, but it's not registering as she's so fixated on fixing her shirt. Today was the kind of day where she won't sit for more than a couple minutes at a time obsessing about different things.

It is mentally exhausting.

I hear ya. Our mom was getting pretty bad when we lost her last Xmas. Of course, she was 95. But it is a sad and difficult thing to watch happen. That’s why I’m going out the window Putin-enemy style before I get that bad. Too late for Senior. He’s already there.

 Never any doubt?

Please make sure that you and sis are remembering to take time for yourselves. smile

We're the late afternoon/evening shifts.  My other brother/sister come over 3 days on/off each during the day. I work during the week, and weekends I keep to myself or go run a few errands in the morning. Same for my sister who is also staying here.

Afternoon/evening shift must be difficult. But glad to hear you're taking some Homer time.

The wife’s home made pizza. Quite good.

I'm craving pizza too! My Costco card is lost somewhere in my apartment. no

But I'm at least hoping to get out of *my* lifetime first! Remember, I'm a few years younger the rest of y'all!!

It's also terrifying from the standpoint there's a whole generation coming up that literally can't do anything for themselves, they're using AI like a search engine.

And they believe whatever crap it spouts. Zero critical thinking skills.  I usually search with ai off because of all the hallucinations.

YES!! I was talking to an older, and VERY non technical, friend yesterday and compared it to the "You get a 200 on your SATs just for writing your name" joke of yesteryears. (Which I'm now realizing may fall completely flat on a Canadian audience.)

These kids aren't even going to be able to get the 200.

Dude. That is TERRIBLE for the environment especially for mundane ****. It's totally going to be a stupid AI query that melts down Three Mile Island for the second time.

Homer, if you're joining for the rest of the game (rather than a drive by) it's literally easier to type what your bingo card is rather than copying and pasting the link...

deviation, that's it. I2

Does she like music? Mom used to love listening to music.

We play calming music when she gets agitated. It doesn't always help.  I have a smart speaker in her room to play calming music when she sleeps.

Has there been any news on Chabot?

Thomas Chabot of the Ottawa Senators is currently considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury he sustained on November 11, 2025, and his return timeline is uncertain. After initially being listed as day-to-day and later as possibly missing up to two weeks, head coach Travis Green stated on November 14 that the injury was back to being a day-to-day situation, though he was doubtful for the game on Saturday, November 15.
