On day one, he did an exec order reversing Biden's EO to lower prescription drug costs. So, to all the people that bitched about inflation and said they were better off under trump, you are already worse off under trump, and that was day 1.
But the phrama companies are doing better! So, you have that going for you.
Leopards Ate My Face on reddit is a wealth of schadenfreude: newly-hired (but not yet onboarded) Fed employees who have already moved their families have their offers rescinded; moved-when-they-went-remote Fed employees not understanding how they'll RTO; people suffering from rare diseases having the NIH research paused.
BUT! Eggs prices should come down now that the FDA isn't forbidden from communicating with the public, so recalls won't happen. Winning!
Recalls cost money, which is passed on to the consumer, so if you stop testing for salmonella there is no salmonella, so prices will come down (or profit will go up). Whose to say which way companies will lean towards. /S
Ha, unfortunate typo…the FDA ****IS**** forbidden from communicating.

I need some Canadian > American English translation on this one:
"Was not going to vote Liberal under Trudeau but I bit the bullet today and registered/ volunteered for the Liberals assuming Carney will win the leadership race. Anyone else planning to do the same?" from reddit
Is this the equivalent of "I didn't like the candidate so I'm was going change parties (or not vote at all)"?
Because that's what it kinda sounds like and, holy ****, have y'all not been paying attention to what that gets you?! (looking at the account it may be a troll but it made it to the front page)
Yup, that's what it is. Ontario re-elected the Conservatives and Doug Ford in 2022 winning 83 of 124 seats with only about 18% of eligible voters voting for them.
Eligible voter turn out was only 44%. A record low turn out, previous low record was 48% in 2011.
You know how everything was Biden's fault (economy, price of groceries, gas, houses, rent, etc...). Well in Canada that was all Trudeau's fault. I guess both of them snuck into grocery stores at night and set the price on everything.
I was throughly afraid that's what it meant, because I knew (loosely) there was a lot of "current party ruined my life" sentiment. But, **** people, can we stop living out the "hold day beer" meme in real life?!

ppppsssssstttttttt! I have seen this morning that google had a search spike on election day for "did Joe Biden drop out of the election race?"
Going out on a limb here, but i think I found the problem, America.
And wikipedia is seeing a spike on Project 2025.
That said, the origin story is moving along much faster than I anticipated…1) it's actually a pretty common sentiment among my peer group and 2) even I was surprised by how much entertainment r/leopardsatemyface brought me today. We are officially in the FO phase of FAFO.
And maybe the most terrible irony of them all, he couldn't give a flying **** if a woman got an abortion. He's probably paid for several of them in his lifetime. It was all just a means to an end to win over the evangelicals. And they fell for it hook, line and sinker.
Unfortunately, the rest of the world can't just shake our heads and move on. Its going to affect everything and everyone, and this time, there's no guardrails. A maniac now has unchecked power, and everyday he slides deeper in to dementia.
All his legal problems will go away.
All the insurgents will be released.
All the white supremacists will be empowered.
he's going to go after all his "enemies".
The epstein files will disappear for good. Diddy may even get a pass.
He's going to hand over Ukraine to putin. God knows what that leads to. China, NK, Iran all will feel free to do what they want.
if you think it was bad the first time, you're gonna need lube for this one.
Yeah, all of this.
And the "enemies" part may be the worst (if you can isolate a "worst" out of this) because anyone on his "side" is going to feel empowered to take action against the "enemies" themselves, at every level.
