ok, I need some extra brain power tonight. I bought a new car, picking it up in the morning. However... I have a laminated card that is the sensor for the garage door opener in my building, which has fallen between the dash and the glass in my current car. I need to get it out of there before tomorrow morning. Help?
Yeah, I've tried the folded paper thing, and a few other options. Maybe double-sided tape, or a super powerful vaccum
I thought about suggesting tape but that always seems to get stuck on everything BUT what you need. I didn't even realize there WAS a gap there so I hit up Mr. Google for ideas.
Maybe a can of compressed air? If you slide the card along the width is there a "shallower" spot?
It's kinda stuck in the shallowest part already. It's covering the VIN for location idea.... of course in one of the most awkward areas to get to.
I can get another card to slide in above it, so I'm thinking maybe double-sided tape slapped onto one side of something, wiggle it in there and hope.
Preemptive "Russell, just shut up"
If whatever you stick in there is stiff enough to "push past" any sticking that might work. You might need two implements…if there's not enough back and worth leeway you might need a second hand to push the lost card more securely onto the tape.
Or, if you could rig up a vacuum hose attachment to a narrower gauge tube (drinking straw?) that could work in tandem.
