Who gets the call for the weekend?

 I would guess Sogaard

Yeah, it's pretty rare even here, but super cool to see when it does happen

Reminds me of one of my nieces when she was at OttawaU and stayed in residence.

There was an exchange student on her floor, knocks on her door.

Him: "Do you have a rubber I can borrow?"

Niece: "Excuse me?!"

Him:  "You know a thing to erase"  Makes an erasing motion.

Niece: "Oh you mean an "ERASER".

I was ice fishing over the weekend and the ice is over a foot thick, so I’m guessing that while it is thick enough for snowmobiles and ice shacks the NCC wants more before they put equipment on the Canal. We need a week of -15C to get the Canal open.

While my concept of cold has definitely shifted since moving to WA, I cannot wrap my head around a foot of ice or a week of 5F. (I'm disappointed we don't have a brr emoji)

honestly this has been a weirdly warm winter.  NOT having had a week of -15 yet is extremely weird at the end of January.

The vet tech asked if Abby was on flea treatment since "it's been warm this winter".

Cue Cathy's blank face…"This is warm?"

I heard on the news that New York hasn't had a proper snow yet or something like that.

Last year, we had -30C sustained for most of January.  I actually got frostbite on my left toe skating on the Canal.  Still went back three more times after I figured out that I should not overtighten my left skate.  I'm definitely an idiot :D
