May I ask another "Cathy doesn't understand Winter" question?
My kitchen cabinets are on exterior walls. When I get a coffee mug out, it's cold, like straight out of the fridge cold. Do I need to worry about pouring water straight from the kettle?
I've been running hot tap water through the mug first. These are proper mugs, stoneware.
I'd be mored concerned with the apparent lack of insulation in your walls.
Yeah, but I can't do anything about that. lol
They're also on the bottom shelf of the bottom cabinet right now, so 4" off the ground. It doesn't feeling especially cold in the kitchen or cabinet, just the mugs.
I don't think you need to worry about the mugs breaking. I've poured hot coffee into cold mugs without any mishaps.

Is there cold air getting in trough in that part of the cabinet? Is it the type of cabinet where each door is it's own compartment or open inside between the doors?
