I know they played unexpectedly well yesterday, but overall I really feel like this whole situation is just unfair to the team. You can't put an almost full roster of AHL players up against fully healthy NHL clubs and expect anything except failure on most nights. The fact that the league hasn't addressed this yet is extremely frustrating.
If one of the top 6 teams were in this situation, pretty sure the NHL would have done something.
I'm sure the other teams are not happy about having to play ottawa. If one teams catches it from Ottawa, they then can spread it to another. next thing you know, half the league is having outbreaks.

The fact the league isn't giving cap relief for protocol'd players says it all. Normal season at all costs.
It will be interesting to see what happens when a top-tier team gets hit. (I really think it's a "when" not "if", I'm expecting another winter surge.)
