 I dread those games.

Doing a good job of covering this.... then Duthie has to ask Cheryl Pounder about her reaction "as a mom"

How about as a f-ing human being?!

That being said, I'm glad I'm *not* a mom who has to explain why cap circumvention is a harsher penalty and only "senior management" is responsible to speak up when bad things happen.

{go to your happy place, go to your happy place}

Toews's comments on that it's "not for him to comment on", sure had a lot to say about how good people Blackhawks management was and how he really respects them as people.

Yeah... honestly I'm struggling a bit right now with my response to this situation and how I feel about the league as a whole.

Statements from Bettman, Fehr, etc.... so many missed opportunities to as they say in hockey.... "do better"

Same.  It would not surprise me if other players come forward if not NHL, at other levels of hockey.

On a side note, all the allegations from players saying some teams don't have their best interest when it comes to their health a lot more believable. Not that I didn't think it wasn't true in the 1st place.

Yes.  We all know the stories of players that are being denied proper medical treatment because it's not in the best interest of the team.  How many other things are they hiding, covering up, etc.

I'm sickened by the whole thing.  Very glad I'm not a Winnipeg fan, because I think I would be having to find a new team right now.  I'm really glad we have no former Hawks on the team right now....

I thought business school taught me just how much the bottom line drives the world. That b-school book learning has nothing on the last two years of real life. Sacrifice the infantry for success.

This team is only about 2 or 3 solid veterans away from being a playoff team. Dorion needs to get off his ass and use some of that cap space to get those players.

So true, it’s that way in the NFL too. NBA is the only major sport where it’s not overtly like that. NBA is controlled by the players is probably why

Tkachuk digging that out to all those sweet passes was perfection especially after Dallas had all the momentum

So are we going to ask Darren Dreger now how he feels about it "as a dad"?

Not trying to go down a dark and decidedly unpleasant rabbit hole, but I think this topic is difficult for men to talk about because, regardless of what they say in public, I believe there's still a VERY strong current of, "Guys can't be assaulted/why didn't you just fight back" underneath the surface.

Yet that would have been a more poignant example of how the NHL got in this situation in the first place.

 Yes!

Learned nothing from Graham James doing the same to young players. Wasn't NHL, but they should have learned that you don't just sweep it under the rug.

This!!! Exactly right, I still can’t understand how that creep was ever released from prisons and jails to continue to assault children. The justice systems failed w that piece of human debris.

Ditto.

(I typed and deleted about half a dozen more comments, but just can't articulate well right now.)
