I just offered some Oilers fans one of our extra goalies. They didn't seem to think it would help.
And, lol, I just checked in on an Oilers fan with, "You're verrrrry quiet." He was out to dinner. Probably a more enjoyable last few hours than staying home and watching the game.
Oilers lose this game and this series after being the solid favorites what do they do going forward?
They still need some work, for sure - 2nd and 3rd pairings are not as strong as they could be, and there is a distinct lack of scoring outside of the two big guys.
Heading to OT
McDavid, the German and Nurse are all big time players and arguably better than anyone Ottawa has but the rest…
Yeah, surround those guys with a stronger supporting cast and they are a truly dominant team.
I'm assuming we'll see McDavid and Draisaitl together to start the OT.
I try not to bring it up in mixed company but, the Ducks' most successful season was 3 first lines and a fourth line. If you rely on a star or two, they had better show up every single night without fail.
Yep. You NEED secondary scoring. And your top D can't be on the ice all the time. The Oilers also seem to still be struggling to adapt to different teams that don't play the way they want them too. Definitely a coaching issue as well. "turn McDavid loose" isn't REALLY a game strategy.

I'm quite liking this new play-by-play guy. SNET/CBC need to keep him around.
Is it the Sikh guy?
Yeah
He *is* good. Since NBC is only hijacking the in-game audio and not the intermission studio, this makes SN 100% tolerable. (It also means that we keep missing their names during the studio-arena handoff. Only saw them onscreen once.)
