Just saw this post on Twitter: could this really happen?

It's going to be really funny when the Sens refuse to pay Stone and/or Duchene market value and then realize they have to spend about $14M on 4F/1D to make the floor and pay above market for a bunch of 3rd line/2nd pair players.

Really funny.

Quite hilarious.

All they need is one LTIR contract from a contender to eat up that space.  Think of all those well rested weapons!

We can finally get Marian Hossa back!

I doubt Arizona is willing to let that one go.  Maybe we could get Zetterberg once Stevie Y starts the rapid rebuild there.

Stop it!!!  Dorian may read this

I love the damage control "fair market value" has been offered is started to get floated out there.

Same deal as Karlsson as it puts the PR onus on the player when the fact is there was no bonus structure, lockout protection, or NMC ever offered.

the thing is, its probably not about money for these guys anymore. they can get the money anywhere. its likely more about their confidence in the organization. and rightly so.

I don't know.  They'd probably make effective boat anchors once you stuff enough rocks in them.
