I feel so bad for the players. It must seem absolutely pointless to them when they look at the ladder in their org.

Not sure about that. Face it, half these guys would be in the AHL if they were on any other team. A lot of them are getting more ice time than they would else where. And if they get tired of playing in Ottawa, all they have to do is call an Uber.
