It's an interesting question, actually... because he seems like the obvious choice, but he's RFA at the end of this season.Ā If they end up going to arbitration, and can only get a 1 year deal.... does it really make sense at that point to name him captain?
Ā Color me an optimist but I really believe Sens are going to extend EK and get a long term deal done w Stone. Ā If for nothing else to get the fan base back on their sideĀ
Ā I'm just not that optimistic on the EK front especially.Ā He's going to want a huge pay increase, and he deserves it.Ā Especially with the new 'patience' mantra we are being fed, I have to assume paying him 11M/year is not in the budget
