Surprise, surprise, the US is appealing the DQ.  Maybe they'll get to re-run it alone

I guess this means they have decided the Japanese violation wasn't bad enough? Looked pretty similar to me to what happened in 2012

ok, clear DQ for US, baton change violation, not a lane violation.

BUT, Canada got DQ'q in London for a non-impacting line step

Maybe they decided two DQ's was enough for one Olympic final.

So stepping on the line is only a DQ if stepping on the inside line in the curve or if causing interference anywhere else on the track. So Japan's line step on the final stretch was considered a no harm, no foul

These interviews are driving me crazy. How about a "great job guys, Canada is proud of you"?

Akeem Haynes is short for a sprinter.  5'6" to Bolt's 6'5"

His short legs must be moving pretty fast.

Shouldn't make a difference. They didn't enter the other lane and didn't interfere with anyone. But there have been weirder rulings in the Olympics.

The handoff to Degrasse wasn't smooth enough either

Yep. They lost about a step on the last exchange and that cost them the bronze.

 lane infringement for Japan?
