I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I can't wait for Phillips to be back. At 37, with a busted back, the guy can take on 2 forecheckers in his corner and still chip it out and not set up the other team in the slot.

I think this goes a long way to explaining why he is not improving.
Just for those comments he should sit an extra couple games. When a player has a sense of entitlement, you'll never get their best.
What's gong to be his next comment? "They better not go 3 on 3 at the All-Star game or else I'll refuse to go"
