RE: The Bacon Thread

Recently, I decided to see if a George Foreman grill would do a good job of cooking bacon.  It did.   I cooked a whole package and ate only a few rashers of it, putting the rest away in a container in the fridge.   A few days later, I wanted a "snack" and pulled the container out to have a few pieces while doing some reading.   The next time I thought about it, the container was empty.     This must be the only time anyone has ever been thankful that a package of bacon is now 375g instead of 454g, if only because they wanted their heart to keep beating.

Sorry that I have to pass along this very sad news.

An Amtrak train collided Friday afternoon with a tractor-trailer carrying 70,000 pounds of bacon that was obstructing the tracks, officials said. Outside Chicago Illinois in the heat and humidity of a June afternoon the bacon was a total loss.
(I would guess)
