So the starters under Groulx play like crap to start the year. Groulx’s crew gets hurt and a bunch of greenhorns that he has never worked with come in and promptly give a massive boost to goaltending.
Groulx gets re-assigned, the original starters return, and spontaneously get better.
Looking more and more like Groulx was just kept around as he was Andy’s guy. He was rumored as trying to be too buddy buddy with Price resulting in bad habits when he was let go from the Habs back in 2015/16.
