Claesson has been put on waivers.  $700K/$100K NHL/AHL salary.  Will still be an RFA at the end of the season.

He was a 2011 5th round pick.  Is his time up in Ottawa?

Not necessarily, it was the best time to put him through waivers with a lot of claimable guys ahead of him.  Whether or not he comes back up is if Chabot gets sent back to Junior.

Lazar has been assigned to Bingo.

"We received some good news regarding Curtis on Monday in that he has been medically cleared to take contact," said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion. "Knowing that, we then met with the coaches and player and made the decision that the best and fastest way for him to get ready to both play and succeed in the NHL is for him to go to Binghamton. He'll have the opportunity there to immediately play big minutes and in all situations, something that is necessary for him to get back into game shape."

"We feel that Curtis is an important part of our team, but given that he's been unable to participate in games or to take any contact in training camp, we know this is the best move to get him ready to be able to be a big contributor in Ottawa. We expect to have him back here soon."

It's a good thing, he needs play big minutes and given a chance to show what he can do with those minutes.

Is the Buffalo-Ottawa pre-season game tonight being shown anywhere?

The " full steam ahead" style of Boucher is gong to be exciting but I also suspect it's going to lead to a lot of odd man rushes back the other way, with guys getting caught up ice.

Nice tackle on that break. RBs could use him.

Will the fans pay to see the Sens play the trap?

If it means they don't have to watch them skate in circles in their own end, chasing the puck, I think so. Would be a nice change.

Glad sens scored on that 5-3. That was a cheap shot by Buff.
